The Ridge High School PTO needs volunteers for many committees. We rely on volunteers to contribute to the school’s success. If you are interested in volunteering or have questions about our committees, please take a look at the opportunities listed below. 2023-2024 Volunteer Opportunities

This evening event is an invitation to parents to visit the school and meet classroom teachers.
Co-Chairs: Coordinate, purchase, and set-up refreshments for the evening. Contact Ann Sobine in the Main Office to arrange set-up and recruit help from National Honors Society student volunteers.

This event is a Junior Class fundraiser selling balloons for the graduating class.
Co-Chairs: Coordinate major fundraising efforts involving sales, organization of personal messages, inflating balloons, routing and deliveries throughout town. Must be organized and comfortable working with spreadsheets and large group of volunteers.
Committee: Assists in delivering balloons and as needed, other aspects of this fundraiser.

Liaisons: Work with faculty advisors to perform acts of kindness for students in need. Helps to request donations.

Two parents per grade work with faculty advisors on fundraisers for their respective grade. Responsible for communicating parent concerns for their respective grade to the PTO Co-Presidents. Must be available to attend MANDATORY monthly Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings with the RHS Principal to discuss high school issues which occur on every third Wednesday from 8:30-10:30AM.

Chairs are Senior Class Parents
Coordinates ordering and distribution of graduation announcements. The announcement date must be provided to the vendor, orders must be taken by early February for timely distribution before graduation.Committee: Helps with distribution of graduation announcements.

Liaisons: Help Student Government and Advisors with a theme and decoration ideas, as well as set up for tailgate.

Co-Chairs: Coordinate food, decorations, and volunteers for December luncheon.
Committee: Baking, set-up, clean-up, and assistance during luncheon.

Co-Chairs: Coordinate food, paper goods, and volunteers for June breakfast.
Committee: Pick up food, set up, clean up, and assistance during breakfast.

Co-Chairs: Coordinate evening event with Junior Class faculty advisors, class parents and officers.
Committee: Sells tickets to event and assists chairs with decorating on the day of the prom.

This committee works with the company AtoZ to track and keep record of membership dues and donations received via PayPal and by check from August to early October. Also provides information to printer for paper directory and gives access to new families as needed. Work begins in late July and ends with Back to School Nights.
Co-Chairs: Input and revise data to previous year’s directory and coordinate layout and production.
Committee: Proofreads and confirms data in directory and hands out/sells directories at Back to School Nights.

Chair: Obtains advertisers for the printed and online directories using PTO communications and if necessary, cold-calling; collects payments and provide to PTO Treasurer; organizes ads for the two directories; and provides ads to Directory committee by September 1.

Ridge Gives Back is a day of service in which every student and staff member at Ridge High School spends the day engaged in service activities of their choice.
Liaisons: Volunteers will help out at various activity sites as needed.

Liaisons: Work with Ridge advisors to oversee activities during a week emphasizing Respect. Jobs may include buying materials, creating volunteer sign-ups and overseeing volunteers during lunch at Ridge.

Chairs are Senior Class Parents
Committee: Assists chairs with planning, set-up, and clean-up.

Liaisons: Assists Advisors with decorating the main entrance to the school and setting up a table outside the cafeteria. Help out as needed during SPW week with specific events for students.

Chair and Committee: Obtains general PTO volunteers’ donations for treats a few times a year at the direction of the PTO Board. Coordinates receipt and delivery of donations to teachers and staff.

Chair: Serves as liaison with Wrapping Paper representative and school. Preparations begin in September and delivery is mid-November.
