Wellness Day/ Abbreviated Schedule
Wellness Day #3 - Wednesday, January 31, 2024
One of the most significant Wellness Challenges for our students is “fitting everything in.” How do I find the time to...maintain a rigorous academic schedule? learn and keep up my grades? fit in all of my extracurriculars? maintain all of my other responsibilities? get sleep? be a teenager and have some fun?
Building a class schedule that is right for each student as an individual is one of the most significant choices they make that impacts their wellness. We always ask that parents/guardians collaborate with their students at this time of year to discuss how their student(s) are feeling as a whole, their long-term goals, current progress, and what the coming year should look like.
This year, we have improved the scheduling process to better support our students as they build their schedule. During our next Wellness Day, students will participate in a Course Fair, where they will have the opportunity to speak directly with the teachers of the courses they are considering for the 2024-2025 SY.
This is now the official first step in our scheduling process.
Screenagers
Ridge PAC:
Filmmaker and physician Delaney Ruston uses a personal lens and professional eye to help us all flip the script on stress, anxiety, and depression. We follow Delaney as she finds herself at a loss on how to help her own teens as they struggle with their emotional wellbeing. Ruston sets out to understand these challenges in our current screen-filled society, and how we as parents and schools empower teens to overcome mental health challenges and build emotional agility, communication savvy, and stress resilience.
